Platformers' Days is underway in Hohenroda, mid-Germany.

The access industry is out in force at the two-day show, taking place 12 - 13 September, with most of the main European manufacturers represented.

While the majority of them had launched their new models for this year at APEX, the show has boasted a number of new products and initiatives.

For example, Ruthmann launched its City-Steiger TU 285 truck mount on a 7.5 tonne chassis. It has a 28.5 m working height and a 20.5 m outreach with the boom placed on the back of the truck chassis.

PB Lifttechnik has introduced a new Ecoline mast lift with a 11 m working height, while Airo also had a new vertical mast on display, the 10 m working height V10.

Airo and fellow Italian manufacturer Isoli also announced a new distributor partnership with Omme Lift, whereby the Danish producer will provide service and parts for both companies in Germany. The three companies see the arrangement as a way of forging growth in Germany with a complementary set of products.

The general feeling about the German AWP market at the show was positive, with some manufacturers reporting flat sales conditions but others seeing good growth during 2014.
