Perkins® 1100 Series has been overhauled to deliver a new, updated offering, to meet the customers’ needs. On show for the first time in China, the new 3 cylinder ElectropaK range, which includes the 1103A-33TG2, is targeted at non-regulated countries.

Developed to provide cost effective power, the 1103A-33TG1 offers 45 kVA prime power at 1500 rpm; the 1103A-33TG2 is rated at 60 kVA prime power, while the 1103A-33G completes the line-up with 30 kVA prime power on tap.

Originally designed as a solution for both agricultural and electric power applications, the 1103 has been overhauled, to ensure Chinese generator set packagers now have access to an engine that meets the electric power markets’ specific requirements.

The changes made to the new 1103A electric power offering, which goes into production in the second quarter, includes a modified and robust fuel system which now uses a mechanical lift pump, ensuring OEMs benefit from a competitive cost of ownership.

With a focus on delivering dependable and cost effective power solutions, Perkins is also showing the 403A-15G2, which meets the all-important 15 kVA prime power node. This key node is normally met by using larger displacement engines but the improved power density, made possible through mechanical governing, of the 403A-15G2 means it offers the same performance but in a smaller package size.

There are four engines in the 400A range, which come in ElectropaK specification, providing a turnkey package for direct integration into a generating plant. The versatility of the range is further enhanced thanks to the facility to mechanically switch the engine between 50 Hz and 60 Hz according to the market requirement. This reduces inventory for OEMs selling into both markets.

With applications such as telecoms requiring reliable and compact power solutions, the 400A range looks set to offer OEMs and end users some tangible advantages in terms of power, performance and cost of ownership.

The Perkins stand also includes the 1106A-70TAG ElectropaK, which continues to stretch the boundaries of diesel engine development and operation by offering class-leading power density – all achieved in a compact, 6 cylinder, 7 litre mechanical package, without the need for common rail or full authority electronics.

In addition to its power density, the 1106A-70TAG is a robust product, able to operate in harsh conditions, while its excellent load acceptance ensures power is delivered immediately, ensuring the end user has a truly dependable power source.

The 1106A range is designed for ease of service and is able to adjust to differing fuel qualities around the world, ensuring that the machine starts every time when needed. Thanks to its flexibility, the 1106A range hits all the main power nodes from 135 to 200 kVA prime power and up to 220 kVA for standby power.

Perkins growing range of gas engines ensures customers receive a high level of performance, flexibility and design excellence. Developed from our proven 4000 Series engine range, the 4008-30TRS on show at Power China 2014, is designed to meet the future demands of the power generation industry for clean, efficient gas fuelled engines.

A turbocharged, air to water chargecooled, 8 cylinder inline gas engine, designed for operation on a wide range of methane based gases, the 4008-30TRS delivers exceptional mechanical efficiency and power-to weight ratio, while a high commonality with other engines in the 4000 Series range means a reduced parts inventory for the OEM.
