Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) will be receiving the prestigious iF international design award for its BT Movit N-series tow tractor in BMW Welt, Munich

After the BT Levio and the Toyota Traigo 48 in 2009, and the BT Optio L-series in 2011, the latter rewarded with gold, TMHE now receives the prestigious iF award for the exceptional design of the BT Movit N-series. Lightweight, quiet, versatile, and perfectly adaptable to a variety of working environments ranging from warehouses to hospitals, the optimised BT Movit N-series convinced the iF jury of its unique design qualities.
  
The International Forum Design Awards (iF) has been supporting the work of talented designers since 1953 by promoting healthy competition and increasing their worldwide visibility. This year, the jury of 49 experts evaluated designs coming from 55 countries. TMHE’s BT Movit N-series is one of the winners selected from no less than 3,249 entries.
“We are honoured that our tow tractor BT Movit N-series has been chosen for its clean and functional design. Meeting the design criteria to win such an award is always a challenge: the product must fulfil a variety of requirements, such as being visually attractive, but also ergonomic, functional, sustainable, and cost-efficient,” says Magnus Oliveira Andersson, Head of Design at Toyota Material Handling Europe.

The BT Movit N-series has been designed to improve material handling operations: quick battery change, vibration damped floor, LED lights in the front, and low step-in height allow for fast, safe and efficient order picking. Ergonomic and powerful enough to tow trolleys with a load weight of up to 1,500 kg, they are designed to take productivity and driver comfort to the next level.

The BT Movit N-series will be on display together with other award-winning entries at the iF design exhibition in Hamburg, starting March 2014.
