In the past decade,more than 16 million people have attended the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ (Show), and during that time, Cat® Lift Trucks has provided more than 1,000 lift trucks to keep the Show running. This year, Cat Lift Trucks continues the tradition, celebrating the 10th year as the Official Lift Truck Provider for the Show.

Cat Lift Trucks, with local dealer Adobe Equipment Houston, LLC (Adobe), will provide 100 internal combustion pneumatic tire lift trucks ranging in capacity from 5,000 to 36,000 lbs. to meet the material handling needs of the Show.

“We are excited to celebrate a decade as the Official Lift Truck Provider for one of Houston’s most widely recognized events,” said Kent Eudy, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Cat Lift Trucks. “We are proud to support this Houston tradition and look forward to helping the world’s largest livestock show and rodeo run smoothly again this year.”

Each year, the Cat® lift trucks are used to coordinate Show logistics, such as unloading trailers and moving animal feed, lumber, water, food supplies and merchandise throughout the more than 300-acres of Reliant Park. As the Show’s world-class musical lineup performs on stage, the trucks work behind the scenes to facilitate set-up and teardown of staging, risers, platforms, screens and audio visual equipment for each nightly performance. 

Adobe technicians will be onsite to provide lift truck operator training and around-the-clock service to support all donated lift trucks, demonstrating Cat Lift Trucks continued commitment to quality service.

Cat Lift Trucks is also celebrating the 10th year of its scholarship program, which awards $5,000 to an outstanding Houston-area student pursuing higher education in a mechanical engineering or business-related field. The winner will be announced on the Cat Lift Trucks Facebook page on February 26.

The 2014 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will begin Tuesday, March 4 and run through Sunday, March 23.
