Jungheinrich has consolidated its business activities in the field of complete logistics solutions, concentrating its competence in a single, unified structure. Employing more than 600 staff around the world, the Jungheinrich logistics systems division achieved annual revenue of approximately 286 million euros in 2012.

Jungheinrich set up the new logistics division at the beginning of the year, operating under the name of Jungheinrich Logistiksysteme GmbH. Based in Moosburg, the new subsidiary brings together the previously separate divisions of Logistics Systems and Warehouse and System Trucks.

Jungheinrich Logistiksysteme GmbH includes the departments of Sales, Finance and Engineering, and will run the firm’s worldwide activities from its Moosburg base. Richard Brandstetter (49), previously Head of the Logistics Systems division at Jungheinrich, has been appointed the new Director of Sales as well as General Manager of the new subsidiary. Dr. Stefan Binnewies (42), previously Head of Controlling at Jungheinrich AG in Hamburg, has been named Director of Finance. Bernd Tüshaus (60), who remains in charge of the Moosburg plant, will serve in a dual capacity as Director of Engineering at the new company.

“This step means we can consolidate our logistic systems expertise into a single organisation and position ourselves even better in the marketplace as a provider of complete intralogistics solutions,” declared Richard Brandstetter, General Manager of Jungheinrich Logistiksysteme GmbH.

Jungheinrich is anticipating a further global increase in demand for logistic systems – albeit with varying emphasis. “Whereas in Europe the need for cost optimisation is the key driver of complete logistics solutions, companies in growth markets like Asia are focusing on expanding their logistical infrastructure,” said Brandstetter, adding that the company was anticipating strong growth for complete logistics solutions particularly on the Asian market, but also in Eastern Europe, the Near East and South America.

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is an intralogistics service and solution provider with manufacturing operations, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, logistics systems, services and advice. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
