Toyota Material Handling Europe has been awarded Gold Level for its Sustainability performance by EcoVadis.

EcoVadis monitors the sustainability profile of suppliers across 150 sectors and 95 countries. Toyota ranks highly in the four assessment categories in the material handling sector; Environment, Labour Practices, Fair Business Practices, and Suppliers.

Toyota offer world class products including forklifts, warehouse equipment and support services to its customers. This award will help to support Toyota's customers, who many of are world leaders in sustainability with ambitious targets and need proof of accountability towards society, the economy and the environment.

Toyota's care for sustainable manufacturing, transparency and continuous improvement (Kaizen) can be traced back to its parent company, Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO). TICO published its first Environmental Action Plan in 1993 followed by its first Environmental Report in 1994 and has been leading the material handling industry in sustainability ever since.

Tom Schalenbourg, Director Sustainable Development at Toyota Material Handling Europe said, "The EcoVadis Gold Level ranking reflects the commitment of Toyota sustainable development and its ambition to contribute to societies and the environment it operates in. This external seal of approval is a reward for our people who work every day to make Toyota's products and services more sustainable. It shows our customers that we are taking the issue as seriously as they are."
