The 420 acre farm near Skipton in North Yorkshire is run by Robert Townson and family and is home to 320 dairy cows. Mr. Townson first spotted the machine on a neighbouring farm and could immediately see its potential, despite its diminutive size. He therefore contacted local dealer Cornthwaite Farm Machinery of Preston to request a demonstration with the understanding that if the machine could successfully carry out the key task of dispensing bedding sawdust, he would place an order.

The 1245 passed this test with flying colours and so a unit was soon earning its keep on the farm where it is pressed into service on a daily basis, making light work of a variety of bedding, scraping and handling tasks.

Commenting on the Kramer machine Mr. Townson said: “It can do so much more than a small wheeled loader because of the extra reach provided by its telescopic boom - it certainly copes with everything we throw at it and hasn’t missed a beat since it was delivered.”

The 1245 offers all the benefits of a traditional Kramer machine such as a lateral engine position, all-wheel steering and centrally located boom arm, but in a package measuring just 2.92 m in length and 1.56 m in width. Despite these ultra-compact dimensions, the machine offers an impressive ability to lift 1200 kg to a maximum height of 4.30 m.

Weighing only 2.50 tonne, this smallest member of the Kramer telehandler family is a powerful and eager performer and its overall size makes it perfect for working in narrow aisles and other tight spaces.
