JLG Industries, Inc. used The Rental Show to display a range of its products, including the prototype, Tier 4 final, G5-18A compact telehandler.  The unit features a rated capacity at 24 inches of 5,500 pounds and at maximum forward reach (10 feet, 11 inches), the maximum capacity is 1,850 pounds. The G5-18A has a maximum lift height of 18 feet, 4 inches.

The telehandler has a 126-inch turning radius and a stowed height of less than 76 inches.

Power comes from the unit's Deutz TD 2.0 liter engine, a Tier 4 final.

JLG also showed its 340AJ articulating boom lift, X550AJ compact crawler boom, the LiftPod and 1932RS and 3248RS scissor lifts.

Speaking to JLG's president, Frank Nerenhausen, at the show, customers can expect the company to expand on its RS series of scissors this year, but Nerenhausen couldn't give more details.

Speaking about the economy, Nerenhausen said the recovery will sustain through 2013 and that he is seeing rental companies continue to replace aging fleets.

For the full interview with Nerenhausen, see the March/April 2013 issue of Access, Lift & Handlers.
