On Tuesday 20th November NMHG Factory in Northern Ireland received the visit of UK Prime Minister David Cameron

During a Q&A session with the NMHG workforce on the factory floor, Mr. Cameron said it was “great to be here and see your products”. Stressing the importance of great manufacturing operations like NMHG Craigavon in helping the UK to compete and succeed in the “global race”, he also praised the behaviour of the company and workforce for facing the challenges of the world economy by investing in efficiency and skills, in particular apprenticeships and vocational training.

Welcoming the Prime Minister, NMHG Plant Manager Alan Little said : “With over 30 years’ experience in Craigavon, and 375,000 forklift trucks later, we have proven that we can successfully and competitively manufacture product in Northern Ireland, for export all around the world.”

David Cameron also chose this forum to announce that the next G8 summit would be held in Northern Ireland. The occasion was broadcast live on television and has been the subject of extensive coverage from the national media.
