Australia's largest manufacturer of walling systems says it relies on the control accuracy of a Toyota forklift truck.

Modular Wall Systems uses the 1.8-tonne payload Toyota 8-FG18 forklift to handle wet and dry laid-up product.

Customer Services Engineer Glenn Small says the Toyota forklift, fitted with a single-stage mast, is the ideal solution for the role.

"Panel manufacturing is not a question of handling large weights, but requires accuracy in the process for dry and wet laid-up product," he says.

"The Toyota forklift has great visibility and the fine control we need. It does the job very nicely."

Small says the company has a second, older, Toyota 2.5-payload forklift to move packs of steel at its Caringbah plant in Sydney's south.

Modular Wall Systems was established five years ago, growing out of a sister panel manufacturing business.

"We adopted panel technology to a wall system," Small says.

"It has brought together 20 years of experience in the panel industry to fully manufacture the MWS wall system in-house at Caringbah."

Modular Wall Systems now designs, manufactures and installs modular walls for the domestic and the commercial markets - with walls available from 0.9 metres in height to 4.5 metres and above - for sound attenuation walls. The company distributes nationally, as well as to New Zealand and Canada.

The product range includes garden walling up to 3m high, which is available to DIY customers with instructions and an installation DVD.

Toyota's 8-FG18 forklift is part of Toyota's 8-Series range of forklifts. Safety features include Toyota's exclusive System of Active Stability (SAS) and Operator Presence Sensing (OPS) as standard features.
