Converting a forklift fleet to LPG power is easier than many people think – and the fuel's low carbon emissions make it a better bet than diesel. That's the claim from AvantiGas (formerly Shell LPG) which is urging manufacturing businesses to consider switching their forklift trucks to LPG.
The process of converting to LPG may seem daunting, says the company, but is in fact straightforward if the supplier has the required infrastructure and support.

AvantiGas points out that LPG-powered forklifts are generally quieter and cleaner than their diesel counterparts, meaning the same trucks can be used inside and outdoors.

Fast refuelling times make LPG-powered vehicles ideal for continuous operation and Avanti has recently introduced a telemetry system which wirelessly monitors customers' fuel levels to eliminate any risk of downtime from lack of supply.

Gavin Morris, B2B sales manager at AvantiGas, says: "There are so many benefits to using LPG. It's cost effective, clean and helps increase productivity. We are looking to drive the business forward throughout 2012, employing new team members to help us continue to provide the high level of service we pride ourselves on, and support future growth of the organisation."
