Jungheinrich forklift trucks have taken out first place for energy efficiency after tests in Austria.
The German manufacturer came up trumps following an extensive test of electric counterbalance trucks at the University of Vienna on behalf of Austrian trade magazine “dispo".
The objective of the test was to compare counterbalance trucks in 3-wheel design powered by electric motors with a load capacity of 1.6 tonnes.
Measurements on traction battery, battery charger and mains supply to determine energy efficiency were carried out on the tested trucks, with dynamic and static tests used to measure the energy flows.
“The fork lift truck with the lowest energy requirement per hour was the EFG 216 model from Jungheinrich, according to test results," the company reports.
“The EFG 216 model from Jungheinrich took first place in the energy efficiency test because of the low energy requirement during operation combined with high efficiency ratios in traction battery and charger.”
