FB Chain Ltd has supplied leading materials handling equipment specialist Jungheinrich’s Italian division - Jungheinrich Italiana Srl – with over 400 chain wear gauges. This is the biggest single order Letchworth-based FB Chain has ever received for the products which are used by forklift truck engineers to measure a lift truck’s chain for signs of wear.

Unlike other makes of chain wear gauge on the market, the FB gauge allows chain elongation to be measured to within one quarter of one per cent. Chain elongation is the most common cause of chain failure and the ability to monitor it accurately allows an engineer to assess if a chain is likely to need to be replaced before his or her next review of the truck is due.

Jungheinrich Italiana Srl will equip each of its field service engineers with the FB chain wear gauge.
