On Dec.9, 2011, the 50,000th Linde electric forklift was delivered to Wal-Mart in Shenzhen. This ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Sun Xiong, Chairman from Guangdong Chain-Store & Franchise Association, Mr. Zhen Yanling, Secretary-General from Shenzhen Logistics & Supply Chain Association, Mr. Xu Chuan, Secretary General from Shenzhen International Distribution Association, local media, as well as employees of Wal-Mart and Linde (China). In the ceremony, Mr. CP Quek, CEO of Linde (China) handed the key of the 50,000th electric forklift to Ms. Lesley Smith, Vice President from Wal-Mart (China). During the event, the winning Wal-Mart woman team from the Linde Cup Forklift Skill Competition held earlier this year performed a lively show of stacking a tower of champagne glasses.

Ms. Lesley Smith, Vice President of Wal-Mart China said in her speech: “Building energy saving and environmentally friendly marketplaces is the core part of Wal-Mart’s sustainable growth initiatives. We have always insist on environmental friendly solution like electric forklifts in all our distribution center and stores across China, and by doing so we were able to reduce carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions by more than 300 tons a year."

Mr. CP Quek, CEO of Linde (China) Forklift Truck Corp., Ltd. said in his speech: “As the world leading forklift manufacturer, our products have features that protect the environment that we live in, caring for the health and safety of the forklift operators and the people around them. We have been serving Wal-Mart China for the past 15 years, and with the growth of distribution centers and stores across China, have accumulated around 1,000 units of Linde electric forklifts."

Shenzhen Environmental Committee also congratulated Linde (China) for this milestone achievement and encourages more companies to model after Wal-Mart and Linde to reduce the carbon footprint as set forth in China's 12th 5-year plan.

Linde (China) has also won numerous awards from Wal-Mart China like the Best Supplier Award in 2005, the Best Logistic Equipment Supplier Award in 2009, and Best Project Cooperation Award in 2010.
