Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU) President Brett Wood joined the advisory board for SafetyBeltSafe U.S.A., the national nonprofit solely dedicated to child passenger safety and nationally recognized for technical expertise and program excellence. The organization’s mission is to help reduce the number of serious and fatal traffic injuries suffered by children through promotion of the correct, consistent use of safety seats and safety belts.
"Safety is always the top priority at Toyota," said Wood. "We share a passion with SafetyBeltSafe for protecting drivers and passengers by encouraging everyone to wear a safety belt, whether they are in a car or a forklift."
"We’re elated to have Brett join the advisory board and bring years of experience and a new industry and personal perspective," said Stephanie Tombrello, a founder of SafetyBeltSafe U.S.A. "Also, as a father, he understands the extreme importance of proper child safety seat usage." During car seat safety inspections, SafetyBeltSafe has found more than 90 percent of the safety seats checked have one or more errors.
