Local dealers J R Perry Ltd will host the New Holland brand this year at the National Ploughing Championships from Stand 237, Row H.

Getting its first airing at a public event in Ireland is New Holland's latest telescopic handler, the LM5020.

With a cab height of 1.99m and an overall width of just 1.8m, this is the smallest machine in the New Holland LM5000 series of telehandlers.

Like the other machines in the range, it has a fixed chassis with side boom and four-wheel steering. Steering functions include two-wheel steering, four-wheel steering and crab-steering. A differential lock is standard on both axles and standard tyres are 12x18s.

Power is supplied by an 85hp, turbocharged engine and the transmission is a single-speed hydrostatic unit.

Being a hydrostatic-drive machine, most of the braking is done by the transmission but there are also oil-immersed disc brakes on the front axle.

An 80-litre/min gear pump provides the oil supply for the boom functions. Despite being the smallest machine in the pack, the LM5020 has a maximum lifting capacity of 2.5t and a maximum reach of 5.78m.

A single joystick controls boom functions, and boom suspension is an option.

There are two build variations, Delta and Plus. The Delta is the entry-level machine, while the Plus is the high-spec version.

The Plus versions are equipped with an air seat, air-conditioning, more lights and other features.
