It is noted that now it is the adjustment period for Chaohu City in Anhui Province as it will be merged into Hefei City after being divided into three districts. Hefei in future is expected to welcome a greater momentum for economic growth with strategic plans.

Grasping such an opportunity, Toyota came to Hefei in Anhui Province, the eighth stop of the exhibition tour for their 8 series battery forklifts on August 19, 2011, gathering together with the customers of Toyota forklifts from Hefei, Wuhu and Bengbu in Anhui Yuanpai International Hotel in Hefei Economic & Technological Development Zone to witness the first launch of Toyota 8 series of battery forklifts in Anhui Province.

Anhui Toyota Forklift Co., Ltd., the dealer of Toyota forklifts in Anhui, belonged to Anhui Tongde Corporation, a construction machinery company established in 1998 and specialized in distributing construction machinery of various brands at home and abroad and providing equipment sales, spare parts sales, logistics, maintenance and information service for the customers. Since 2008 when Anhui Toyota became the dealer in the province, Toyota forklifts got a dramatic development in Anhui.

On the launch ceremony, the Chairman of the Board Mr. Li from Tongde Corporation and the General Manager Ueda from Toyota Material Handling (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (TMHS) gave the speeches. Then, the customer from Media received the key for the new forklift on the delivery ceremony, and showed his affirmation to the safety of Toyota forklifts. During the demonstration of the new forklift, the driver innovatively operated the forklift to climb onto a ramp to show the upgraded regenerative braking function of the new battery forklifts. The stable operation of the new forklift on the ramp left a deep impression to the customers on the site with its reliability, safety and eco-friendly features.

Since the company acquired Sweden forklift manufacture BT in 2001, Toyota has been ranked the world's No. 1 forklift manufacturer in terms of forklift sales for successive nine years. The newly launched 8 series battery forklifts started a new era for the usage of battery forklift.

Toyota applied several innovative high technologies on the new series forklifts, such as dual-channel AC system was devised, bringing higher operational efficiency and longer operational intervals for the customers; OPS Operator Presence Sensing System, passing down the safety concept; and the latest active stability system for optional. The frame of the forklift made use of ergonomic designs, reducing the operator’s fatigue during the handling period.

This upgrade of forklift modes, undertaking for ten years, was believed to bring about a new revolutionary reform for battery forklifts.
