On June 24, Xiamen, Linde Cup China Forklift Skill Competition National Finals was successfully held at headquarters of Linde (China). Linde Cup China Forklift Skill Competition was jointly held by Linde (China), China Federation of Industry & Commerce (CFIC), China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP) and China Industrial Truck Association (CITA). In 2007, Linde Cup was dubbed the “Oylmpic Gala of China Logistics Industry” and created Shanghai Great World Record. From 2010 to 2011, the second competition will cover more 28 cities across China, more than 800 companies and 1500 contestants.

Mr. Ye Chonggeng, Vice Mayor of Xiamen Municipal Government; Ms. Zhang Jie, General Secretary of China Industry Truck Association, Mr. Chen Conghui, Chairman of Xiamen Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment，Mr. Xu Changyao, Director of Economic & Development Bureau, Mr.Zhang Liang, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of Labor Union from Beijing Benz Automobile, Mr. CP Quek, President of KION Asia, CEO of Linde (China) Forklift Truck Corp., Ltd., Mr. Jens Splittgerber, Vice President of Linde (China), Mr. SC Tee, Strategic Marketing Director, Mr. Xie Dean, Sales Director of Linde (China) and nearly 50 medias participated in this event. After several months of quality rounds nationwide, 28 winning teams made it into the national finals. All the contestants came from well known companies such as Benz, Bombardier, Yili and Wal-mart.

Firstly, Mr. CP Quek, CEO of Linde (China) Forklift Truck Corp., Ltd., welcome for all the guests and said, “I hope that all of you will see how Linde (China) are able to provide high quality products and service while seeing our lean supermarket factory, and experience our company culture and the charm of German technology in action. Hope all the contestants will use the skills to promote more efficient logistics.”

Then Mr. Xu Changyao, Director of Economic & Development Bureau, mentioned Linde’s achievement and contribution to Xiamen’s industrial economic development in the past 18 years. After that, Ms. Zhang Jie from CITA also shared the update of forklift truck industry and congratulation to Linde for being the top supplier among foreign brands and among electric forklifts.

As customer representative, Mr. Zhang Liang, Deputy Secretary of Party committee and Chairman of Labor Union from Beijing Benz Automotive mentioned in his speech, “Besides of providing high quality product and comprehensive service, Linde (China) also would provide a good platform for forklift truck drivers.”

In the ceremony, the VIP guests kick off the game. The grand red ball with Linde Cup logo means bringing “Good Luck” to all contestants. The team from Benz and Walmart give a lively forklift truck show which saw the Linde forklifts pouring champagne and opening beer bottles.

Like the regional finals, the national finals include two exciting competition programs- handling pallets around obstacles, and handling colorful balls with teamwork. These programs are designed to test contestants’ speed, accuracy, teams work. After four hours competition, Linde Cup China Forklift Truck Skill Competition came to a great success.

In the awarding ceremony, Ms. Zhou Linyan, Vice chairman of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, presented the award and delivered a speech. She said,” Forklift truck as materials handling equipment plays an important role of Logistics. And the aim of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing is to help the development of China Logistics industry. The association is glad to see the skill and efficiency of operators would get a progress by holding such a competition.”

The winning team of Xiamen International Airport Air Cargo Terminal will eventually represent China for the international competition in Germany on September this year.
