Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has announced several important changes to the company's network of dealers covering Scotland. Lloyd Ltd, Scotia Plant Ltd and Balgownie Ltd, the existing dealers for the popular Doosan-branded range of excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks in Scotland, have all been awarded new Bobcat dealerships. All three companies are now offering sales and service for the Bobcat range of compact equipment in their respective areas.
Inverurie-based Balgownie Ltd has been appointed as the Bobcat dealer for Aberdeenshire, Morayshire, Angus (from 2012) and for much of the Highlands and parts of Perthshire and Kinross-shire.
The remainder of Perthshire and Kinross-shire is part of the area now handled by Scotia Plant Ltd, based in Coatbridge, which will now represent both Bobcat and Doosan products in the central belt of Scotland. Scotia Plant will work alongside another Bobcat dealer, George Colliar Ltd, based at Kinross.
Lloyd Ltd has won the Bobcat dealership for the southern part of Scotland, covering East and South Ayrshire, the Border counties, South Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway. Lloyd Ltd is also the new Bobcat dealer for Cumbria in England. In both areas, Lloyd Ltd is responsible for all Bobcat products except the telescopic handler range from Bobcat.
The range of Bobcat skid-steer loaders, including one all-wheel steer model, covers operating weights from 1268 to 4549 kg and rated operating capacities from 343 to 1758 kg. Complementing these compact wheeled loaders is a range of compact tracked loaders with rated operating capacities from 254 to 1584 kg and tipping loads from 732 to 4602 kg. The Bobcat compact loader range appeals to customers in many sectors from construction, demolition, landscaping, agriculture and equipment rental to recycling and general industry.
The line of Bobcat compact excavators comprises models ranging in operating weight from 1 to 8 tonne, with digging depths from 1.8 to 4.7 m. They are designed for a wide variety of digging and trenching applications such as cable laying, foundations and footings for buildings and installation of drainage and sewerage systems.
The Bobcat telescopic handler range comprises rigid-chassis models offering maximum lift capacities from 2.2 to 4.0 tonne with maximum lift heights from 5 to 17 m as well as a range of rotary telescopic handler models with maximum lifting capacities from 3.5 to 5.0 tonne and with maximum lift heights from 15 to 24 m. Bobcat telescopic handlers are designed to meet customer needs in applications ranging from general construction and industry to landscaping and agriculture.
There are more than 70 specialised attachments for the Bobcat loader, excavator and telescopic handler ranges, from hydraulic breakers, crushers and planers and other construction and demolition attachments to scarifiers, graders, flail mowers, stump grinders and woodchippers for turf and forestry work.
The usefulness and productivity of Bobcat compact equipment is continually being extended with the growth in the attachment range, saving time, effort and cost in carrying out an increasing range of applications.
Mike Singer, Sales Director at Balgownie Ltd, said: "The addition of the Bobcat range is an excellent complement to the Doosan range we represent throughout the North of Scotland. Bobcat has one of the leading ranges of compact equipment with a superior range of compact loaders, mini-excavators and telehandlers."
Lee Roberton, General Manager at Scotia Plant Ltd, based at Coatbridge, said: "This is a very exciting development for Scotia Plant. Like our fellow Doosan dealers, the availability and support for the Bobcat range from Scotia will be of great interest to our many customers in construction, demolition, plant hire and quarrying. The Bobcat range also opens up many new markets for Scotia in arable and livestock farming as well as landscaping and general industry."
Stuart Dalton, Dealer Principal at the Dumfries location of Lloyd Ltd, said: "The Bobcat range extends the quality agricultural, construction, industrial and horticultural equipment we have been offering customers throughout Southern Scotland and Northern England since the 1960s. I am confident that the wealth of experience and dedication to customer care we have built up since then will allow us to achieve the same success for the Bobcat brand that we have enjoyed with the Doosan range of products."
Lloyd Ltd, Scotia Plant Ltd and Balgownie Ltd will all offer a full selection of genuine Bobcat accessories and parts to support both new and existing Bobcat customers in their areas. Original Bobcat parts maintain the best mechanical standards to optimise performance, reliability and protect the machine's residual value. The new dealers will carry most essential spare parts and provide a back-up service with overnight delivery for other items.
Bobcat customers will also benefit from well-established on-site service networks, covering everything from emergency repairs to routine maintenance. The companies all offer flexible service agreements including 24 hours a day coverage, depending on the requirements of the customer.
