On January 18, 2011, Komatsu (China) Product & Technology Development Center was opened in Changzhou. It was informed that Komatsu invested 30 million Dollars to establish this first-class center for construction machinery product and technology development to realize more rapid growth on the market.

As a world famous multinational company in the construction machinery manufacturing industry, Komatsu Co., Ltd. set up Komatsu (Changzhou) Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and Komatsu (Komatsu) Casting Co., Ltd. in Changzhou since 1995, keeping close cooperative relationship. These two companies, specialized in manufacturing and marketing construction machinery and parts, experienced fast development in Changzhou. In 2010, the sales income of the two companies respectively reached 6.4 billion Yuan and 300 million Yuan, which have become the leading enterprises in the field.

In order to meet the demands of the customers in a better way, Komatsu (China) Investment Co., Ltd. invested 30 million Dollars and established a global Product & Technology Development Center in Changzhou to expand the functions of product manufacturing base of Komatsu in China. Designed to be a comprehensive service platform facing with the customers in the global world, this new center was featured with such three functions as a product demonstration center to introduce the latest construction machinery products and technologies; a comprehensive research and development center to provide world class construction machinery technology training and a cycling technology center to fasten the development of cycling technology.
