The RC 5500 series operates via a 36-volt electrical system controlled by Crown's Access 1 2 3 Comprehensive System Control. Access 1 2 3 provides advanced diagnostics to pinpoint problems, test components, and quickly determine the solution. 

Crown's FlexRide suspended floorboard significantly enhances work performance by improving comfort and reducing fatigue associated with shock and vibration caused during travel over expansion joints, dock plates and rough floors. A weight adjustment feature allows operators to customize the suspension for optimum ride control.

A footrest that provides posture relief during stationary tasks and an exclusive operator entry bar to assist drivers in maintaining proper operator positioning, reinforcing safe truck operation are also included in the RC 5500 series.

The RC 5500 trucks operate using Crown’s AC drive motor and planetary drive units, which are specifically designed for low noise and efficiency.

Hydrostatic steering is an on-demand system which reduces energy consumption, providing smooth, quiet steering control with minimal operator effort.  

All traction and hydraulic functions are integrated into the multi-task control handle.

Chassis configuration has been designed to provide maximum capacity at elevated heights without compromising right-angle stack.

Several battery compartment sizes are available to accommodate a wide range of application requirements.
