With the support and help of the users, cooperative partners and relative departments of the Government, Zhejiang Hangcha has developed fast and healthily into one of the largest bases for forklift research, design and manufacturing and export bases in China. Nowadays, HANGCHA is also among the most popular and well-received brands for the customers in China. In 2009, Hangcha ranked to be the No. 35 in China Top 500 Large Group with Competitiveness and also was nominated to be a member of China Top 1000 Largest Groups and China Top 500 Private Enterprises. These accomplishments have confirmed Hangcha to be one of the strongest forklift manufacturing enterprises, which was also the requirement stated by Wen Jiabao, the State Council Premier when he visited Hangcha.

Under the approval of State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People's Republic of China, SAIC and Zhejiang Administration for Industry and Commerce, Hangcha announced to change the name of the company from Zhejiang Hangcha Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. to Hangcha Group Co., Ltd. referring to the actual development situation as well as to further protect the brand. On December 6, 2010, Hangcha had registered in Zhejiang Administration for Industry and Commerce and began to use the new Business Licence for an Enterprise as a Legal Person.

The new name Hangcha Group Co., Ltd. came into effect since January 1, 2011. The existing shareholders, operation places, business lines and services will keep unchanged, while industrial investment, property management, economic and technological information consultancy will be added based on the existing operating scales.
