On September 30, Xiamen Municipal Government held the awarding ceremony of 2010 Egret Friendship Award. Mr. Ding Guoyan, Municipal Standing Committee member and Executive Vice Mayor, attended the ceremony and conferred certificates and medals to 7 foreign experts. Xiamen Egret Friendship Award was established in 2004. So far,only 22 foreign experts have won the award.
 
Being the only overseas Chinese and the only expert from machinery industry, Linde (China) CEO Mr. Chingpong Quek received the award this time. Since he came to Xiamen and joined Linde (China) in 2006, Mr. Quek not only focused on company development, building most advanced forklift truck R&D center in China to boost development of Xiamen and China material handling industry, but also committed himself to helping Xiamen government promote Xiamen in the world and attract more investment to Xiamen. His efforts were widely recognized by government and medias. In recent years, he was also conferred other prestigious awards like: Xiamen Honorary Citizenship, Xiamen Top 10 Business People, China Top 10 Logistics People and China Industrial Vehicle Outstanding Contribution Award.
