Rocla is well-known for its technological innovations and way-making solutions in the forklift business. Strong emphasis on R&D and design has been awarded with many international recognitions. Rocla’s latest invention, Active Sway Control vibration damping reduces significantly the mast vibration especially in high lifts. Rocla ASC is a unique solution, first of its kind in the world, developed by Rocla (patent pending). It brings intelligence into warehouse truck and improves the stability of the truck as well as user comfort in daily work.

ASC innovation strengthens Rocla’s high competence in product development. It is the first software based active solution that influences the mast behaviour. In high level order picking the driver picks up items even at heights of 10 meters. This high the natural swaying of the mast can feel uncomfortable. ASC automatically calculates the proper counter movement and stops the swaying of the mast very quickly. ASC also controls the proper acceleration and braking so that the driver’s compartment stays steady at all heights. This ensures the picker can concentrate on picking. All the mast movements are balanced and controlled thanks to ASC. This makes learning the picking work at high heights easier also for the unexperienced drivers. ASC reduces significantly the vibration exposure affecting the driver at high heights which decreases the fatigue.

—Active Sway Control improves significantly the comfort of the drivers. We have been examining the mast behaviour in different applications for many years. With the help of simulation and advanced mathematical calculations we developed an active software solution that improves the work flow and usability of the truck so much, that the whole nature of this kind of work improves remarkably, says Janne Polvilampi, Executive Vice President, Offering Development.

Rocla also introduces automatic options for high level order picking: wire guidance and end of aisle slow-down or stopping. These options add safety in the warehouse, especially in narrow-aisle applications where visibility is poor in intersections.
