Belgium-based equipment rental company Cuypers Vorkliften N.V. has awarded Cargotec an order for six Kalmar DRF450-60S5M reachstackers. The company plans to lease the machines to its customers operating at the Port of Antwerp. The agreement was made in the second quarter of 2010.

With more businesses acknowledging the financial benefits of long- and short-term rental contracts, Cuypers Vorkliften ordered two more identical Kalmar reachstackers in the third quarter. Delivery of the first units is also scheduled for this same quarter.

As a professional rental firm, Cuypers Vorkliften opted for Kalmar reachstackers because it was the trusted and preferred brand of its customers. The machines offer numerous advantages in terms of reliability, performance and overall cost-effectiveness.

According to Pol Lenaerts, Sales Manager Terminals, Cargotec Belgium NV, the Kalmar DRF reachstacker is a versatile machine operating at ports, railway, inland and other transport terminals around the globe.

“The F-generation reachstacker was designed to meet the unique demands of customers’ operations,” says Lenaerts. “As a genuine workhorse, this machine is ideal as a rental unit because it’s always ready to do the job – when and where the customer requires it.”

The units on order for Cuypers Vorkliften will be equipped to handle containers weighing up to 45 tonnes in the first row and 30 tonnes in the second row. The F-generation reackstackers feature improved diagnostics for easy troubleshooting making maintenance tasking more efficient. Also standard in the DRF model is environmentally-friendly engines with low emissions, smoother automatic gear shift and driver controls.
