Epoc Messe Frankfurt has confirmed that its latest Material Handling Middle East event will return to Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25th to 27th September 2011.

The three day exhibition has previously featured attendence from a number of major players from the Middle East supply chain and logistics industry, including SSI Schaefer, Loc8 and FAMCO.

“New trends are emerging in most sectors and the supply chain industry is no different. We are excited about embracing these trends and working to ensure Materials Handling Middle East 2011 acts as the ideal platform for key players to come together and do business," stated Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

“Dubai has always been considered a logistics hub for the region and this is set to continue. New developments such as the Al Maktoum International Airport form part of the city’s vision to becoming the pre-eminent centre for aviation worldwide. The new airport, when complete, will have capacity for 12 million tonnes of cargo giving a big boost to the materials handling sector," he added.

Dubai boasts a world-class transportation infrastructure and is served by over 242 shipping lines and linked via 112 airlines to 165 destinations. Dubai Ports witnessed more than 25% average growth in container traffic during the past four consecutive years.

For this reason Materials Handling Middle East has identified a niche for a new product category and so will welcome a new addition, containerization, to its existing product profile for 2011’s event.

“The exhibition has established its presence in the region since 2001 and has been growing year on year. The 2009 event, against all odds due to the difficult economic conditions, met with great success thanks to its professionalism and established reputation," said Michelle McCarthy, recently appointed senior show manager of Materials Handling Middle East.

"For 2011, we will build on our long standing experience and high quality service to deliver another dedicated and focused event for this specialised and growing industry. The exhibition is ideally positioned for exhibitors keen to reach markets in the Gulf and Middle East, the Indian Sub-Continent, the CIS countries and Africa."
