As a world leader in material handling, Linde has always been innovative in developing customer-oriented products. As early as 2000, and again in 2008, a prototype/design concept truck based on fuel cells was presented by Linde at the CeMAT exhibition for intralogistics in Hannover.
Based on the concept design, Linde introduced the first hydrogen fuel cell powered forklift - electric counterbalanced forklift Linde E30 in mid-May 2010. The truck’s fuel cell is supplied by the two electrodes of hydrogen and oxygen, and when connected with the power, current is generated and the by-product is pure water. The technology is not only reducing emissions to zero, but there is no need to spend a few hours to charge the battery. Taking only a few minutes to fill the compressed hydrogen gas can save on energy consumption and eliminate environmental pollution produced by lead-acid batteries.
The performance advantages of fuel cell technology are high efficiency and zero emissions. The introduction of new fuel cell-powered electric forklift truck is a leap and outstanding innovation in forklift field, which is based on years of research and development of Linde Material Handling.
