Manitowoc Cranes will feature a Grove GMK5220 all-terrain crane on its stand at Expomin 2010, one of the largest mining tradeshows in the region. The show takes place from April 12-16 in Santiago, Chile, and will host 60,000 mining industry executives, managers and employees from nearly 30 countries.
Bruce Buchan, Manitowoc’s senior vice president for sales and marketing in Latin America, says the show is perfect for connecting with customers in a growing industry sector.
“Mining operations are rapidly expanding throughout the region, particularly in northern Chile,” says Buchan. “Expomin is an excellent opportunity to showcase the benefits of Manitowoc cranes for mining applications.”
On display at Manitowoc’s booth (#F02), will be the Grove GMK5220, the company’s newest five-axle all-terrain crane. The crane has a 68 m, seven-section boom that features Manitowoc’s TWIN-LOCK pinning technology, which automatically secures the sections in position using two horizontal pins.
The 220 t capacity crane can lift loads up to 107 m with inserts and jib. Standard features include automatic transmission, MEGATRAK independent suspension and tilt cab. A 12 m to 21 m hydraulic offset bi-fold swingaway jib and 77 t of counterweight with hydraulic removal system are also available.
Manitowoc Crane Care representatives will also participate in Expomin to discuss new product support programs and initiatives aimed at adding value to all brands of Manitowoc cranes for their respective owners.
