On December 28^th, 2009, Shanghai Demo Machinery & Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. signed agreement with the Management Committee of Sichuan Neijiang Economic Development Zone, confirming that DEMO forklifts would locate in the southwest of China since then.

At the beginning of 2010, the superior of Chinaforklfit.com (www.chinaforklift.com, English version: ForkliftNet.com, www.forkliftnet.com) conducted an interview through telephone call to Zheng Youwei, the Executive Chairman of the Board of Shanghai Demo Machinery & Electric Engineering Co., Ltd., communicating with each other on the aspects of the development and tendency of industrial vehicle industry in China.

According to Mr. Zheng, the investment of DEMO in Neijiang in Sichuan Province was another business project for internal combustion forklift and material handling equipment after proposing electric forklift project in Wuhu in Anhui Province in November, 2009.

It was reported that this Neijiang project totally cost 100-300 million Yuan under the plan of bringing in advanced forklift technologies from Germany, including static hydraulic transmission and hybrid power technology to manufacture DEMO brand forklifts in accordance with such high standards as specialization, high efficiency and environmental protection. The greatest advantage of this project lied in that though Neijiang located in the southwest of China, it was the hottest place in China for operators to invest capitals to explore for economic development, of which the market could radiate the west, south and middle parts of China as well as other countries in Southeast Asia.

The construction period of Neijiang project would last for four years and was divided into two phases. The first phase of project was opened on December 31^st, 2009 with the construction period of one year; while the second phase of project was expected to begin in February, 2013 and complete or put into operation before the end of February in 2014. Once the project was put into operation, it was capable of manufacturing 1-3T battery forklift, reach forklift and electric stacker; 1-5T internal combustion forklift; 1-10T electrical handling truck and electric tractor. The project was designed to possess annual production capacity of 8000 sets of forklifts.

“Currently, even though almost all the countries were hit by the financial crisis all around the world, DEMO group conducting investment and layout on the market is just to grasp the opportunity of development to continue marching forward while others may withdraw, “said Mr. Zheng. “As for how to earn profits under the fierce competition, our group is prepared for the development in three years. Our plan is to produce products and expand our markets in the coming ten years or even a much longer time, rather than pursuing for profits in a short period.”

When talking about the financing issue of the project, Mr. Zheng told the superior of Chinaforklift.com, “Except the investment of the Group, we also have the injection of long-term risk capitals from banks and Germany as well. We certainly know clearly about the risks and difficulties existing on the market. But we are optimistic on the development of DEMO in the future. ”

It is known that Shanghai Demo Machinery & Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. was engaged not only in the field of industrial vehicles, but also logistic products such as industrial doors and shelves and racks. Mr. Zheng told Chinaforklift.com that DEMO would expropriate lands of more than 100 Mu near their Wuhu Forklift Base in Anhui to open a new factory of material handling equipment during this month.
