Strong relationship continues as both companies celebrate shared success since 1949

Hyster Company, a leading lift truck designer and manufacturer in North America, and Barloworld Handling (www.handling.barloworld.com) celebrate the 60th anniversary of their partnership this year. Barloworld, which deals a full line of Hyster products out of 30 branches in eight southeastern states, plans to commemorate the event with a small celebration at its Charlotte headquarters this month.

Barloworld Handling, the world’s largest independent lift truck company, began its partnership with Hyster Company in 1949. The U.S. Division of Barloworld Handling began in 1943 as a small distribution and equipment business named Wrenn Brothers. Wrenn Brothers became one of the first Hyster lift truck dealers in the region, and the partnership has grown and expanded ever since.

“In a time where corporate landscapes change quickly, and where partnerships are often short lived, our relationship with Hyster Company is truly one-of-a-kind,” said Scott Alexander, vice president of sales and marketing with Barloworld Handling in the U.S. “That makes it all the more inspiring to celebrate 60 years as a Hyster dealer in the Carolinas and Georgia.”

As the world’s largest independent lift truck dealer, Barloworld offers Hyster forklift sales and support throughout the U.S., Europe and South Africa.

“Barloworld Handling’s expansion throughout the years is a testament to the strength and commitment behind our partnership, as well as to the dedication of generations of Barloworld and Hyster employees and their families. We look forward to another 60 years of providing the best and most versatile lift trucks in the industry,” Alexander added.

“Our 60-year relationship with Barloworld Handling has navigated economic ups and downs, countless management changes and tumultuous market environments, all while growing stronger each year,” said Patrick Duhaime, Hyster vice president of marketing. “Partnering with distributors like Barloworld has allowed us to become one of the top lift manufacturers in North America, and we anticipate sharing that success with Barloworld for many years to come.”
