On Oct. 30^th, 2009, Industrial Truck Institution of China Construction Machinery Association (CITA for short) held the 4^th expanded conference of 4^th Council as well as the 5^th Member Meeting in Shanghai. The meeting was presided by Zhang Jie, the standing vice Secretary-General of CITA. Nearly 200 people including representatives of 100 CITA members, supervisors for each sub-association and relative media attended the conference. As the member of the council, Chinaforklift.com (www.chinaforklift.com, English Version: www.forkliftnet.com) conducted followed-up report on the meeting.

The issues of the meeting included the Life Time Contribution Award and Outstanding Contribution Award; election of council members of the 5^th Council of CITA; working and earning report of the 4^th CITA; announcement of election result, standing council member, General Council, Vice General Council and Secretary General; and declaration of working regulation amendment by the new Secretary General. In the end of the meeting, the General Council made a detailed report on working plan of the newly-elected council.

At the beginning of the meeting, the General Council of CCMA Qi Jun made a speech, congratulating the opening of 5^th Member Meeting and reviewing the achievements since the establishment of construction machinery industry in China. He showed highly appreciation to the contribution of CITA to the industry, and encouraged the newly-established council to make more splendid accomplishments in the future.

·Honoring the senior persons who have made great contribution to industrial truck industry 

Since starting from 1953, industrial truck industry in China had experienced hardships in the course of 50-year’s development. The achievements of the industry relied heavily on the efforts and contributions of the experts, scholars and entrepreneurs. On the time 20^th Anniversary of CITA, the senior generation was awarded the honorable titles on the meeting (list attached below).

Then, Qi Jun readout the approval notice of general council and secretary general candidates, and elected the 5^th Council of CITA.

·The 4^th Council of CITA Played Roles of Bridge And Connecting Belt

The General Council of CITA Lu Daming reported the working of the 4^th Council to the attendants. He said that with the support of member units, CITA made progresses in terms of statistics of comprehensive information, collection of market information, standardization management of special equipment, strengthening of industry management, promotion of new products, enhancement of partnership between department of CITA and the industry, communication of manufacturers and foreign merchandise and methods exchange of technological and quality control between forklift manufacturers and matching part plants, etc. Moreover, he made elaborated explanation on the issues of parts at home and abroad.

·Election Results

After the discussion of CITA council units, standing council units and the attendants, the Association approved the working conclusion of Qi Jun on behalf of the 4^th Council and the report of 2004-2009 revenue and expenditures counting by the Secretariat. In the process of voting election, all the attendants agreed to the result of the new council as follows:

Lu Daming as the general councils of CITA; senior managers from 8 member units, Anhui Heli for instance as the Vice Council General; senior managers from 29 member units, Jungheinrich (Shanghai) for instance as the standing council member and senior managers from 67 units, Hunan Sunward Intelligent for instance as the councils of CITA.

Zhang Jie was recommended to be the Secretary General of CITA, and the appointment of Vice Secretary-General would be recommended later on.

·Amendment Report and Working Plan of the 5^th Council

As for the working focus and target of CITA in the next period, leaders and experts on the meeting had put forward lots of suggestions. The new Council and Secretariat should be in accordance with the requirements, advices and wishes set on the meeting to proceed further. Lu Daming and Zhang Jie made speeches on the new council’s behalf. They declared that the new leader group would accept the advice and suggestion put forward by the experts, bring the tenet of CITA in mind, stick to the guides and try the best to explore new idea and innovative measures so as to function better as the communication belt between government and industrial truck industry, serve heartier for the member enterprises and contribute more to the healthy and stable development of industry.

Elder Leaders Continuing to Contribute for CITA

In the end of the meeting, Su Enyi, the former Secretary General and Zhao Jiming of China Forklift Company who had been sincerely engaging in the management of construction machinery industry and knew the industry well was honored to be the senior consultants so as to improve the cohesion force and service level of CITA.
