Excel Storage Products, a rack systems manufacturer headquartered in East Stroudsburg, Penn., continues its growth strategy with the acquisition of Lodi Metal Tech of Lodi, Calif. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Acquiring Lodi gives Excel an extensive service network in the industry and enables the company to better serve customers with more competitive product offerings. To accommodate the increased capacity at the Lodi facility, it is expected that 20 to 40 employees will be added.
With the acquisition of Lodi Metal Tech and the 2007 acquisition of Prest Rack in Brookings, S.D., Excel Storage Products’ rack systems manufacturing capacity for retail and industrial customers has doubled. And despite current economic conditions, the company has aggressively recruited and hired industry experts in operations, engineering, estimating, sales, project management and customer service since the beginning of the year.
“Lodi fits perfectly with our business, meeting our standards for delivering high quality rack systems and exceptional customer service,” says Mike Albers, president and chief executive officer of Excel Storage Products. “With the facility in California and our other plants in Pennsylvania and South Dakota, we now have the national reach that will accommodate all of our customers’ rack systems manufacturing needs. And within a matter of months, we’ll have completely integrated product and service offerings at all of these locations.”
“The acquisition is a win-win situation for both rack manufacturing companies. We bring Lodi greater size, scope and resources, and they provide us with easier access to the West Coast market,” said Albers.
