With it's new TCM FD160-3 forklift, prefabricated buildings supplier MacServices is able to move '3 Bed' buildings throughout the workshop with ease.

MacServices provides the pre-fabricated buildings used throughout Australia.  Many of the units are utilised in the mining industry’s top sites, including Moranbah, Dysart, Nebo, Coppabella, Middlemount in Queensland and Kambalda in Western Australia.

The company's new TCM Diesel 16tonne capacity forklift was delivered in early November 2008, replacing the original 16tonne Hyster unit.

“We’re very impressed with the fork," says Atillo Distefano, floor manager at the Edinburgh branch. "It is surprisingly easy to operate and feels just like a car.”

The 16-tonner arrived at MacServices with factory-fitted air-conditioning to suit the company's busy schedule of working around the clock during the the hottest months of the year.

Specifically the forklift is used to pick-up and move the steel frames that are the base for each of the home-units and has had specifically designed slippers to extend the tyne length to enable it to move the frames almost unassisted.

“Overall we couldn’t be happier," says Distefano. "We’re even getting a couple more TCMs in!”

TCM large capacity forklifts are Japanese market leaders and renowned in the industry for their performance and durability.

They are available from 10 to 25 tonnes and are easily adaptable to suit any environment and application.
