The sixth meeting of International Standard Organization ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Working Group was held recently in Santiago, Chili. More than 400 experts and observers from 80 countries attended the meeting. Relevant department of the government and large-scaled state-owned enterprises in China assigned representatives to take part in the meeting. Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. attended the meeting as the only one local enterprise among the attending units.

It was reported that as the first international social responsibility standard proposed by ISO since from 2005, ISO 26000 social responsibility standard will be a guiding document rather than a management system, which will not be used for certification of the third party and is suitable to apply in the government, enterprises and all the social organizations. The draft of the standard has been modified for four times.

Professionals considered that Yuchai attending the meeting as an observer since the very beginning of formulating the standard has showed their emphasis and concerns on social responsibility.
