Doosan Infracore employs the strategy of reinforcing its image as a first-rate business striving for technological innovation in the machine tool sector.

The Company took part in the IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show) 2008, the world largest machine tool exhibition, held in Chicago from September 8, displaying 17 Turning Centers and 11 Machining Centers as the part of positive marketing activities.

As befitted its status as a business specializing in equipment, Doosan Infracore divided the displayed equipment into four functions, making it easy for visitors to make comparisons based on their functions and types. The extra-length axis turning center targeting the oil field industry and the complex processor equipped with the functions of complex processing and anti-collision displayed by the Company attracted the attention of buyers and visitors.

At the event, Doosan Infracore did its best to enhance its image as a first-rate customer-friendly business engaged in various types of machine tool equipments.

Having secured its booth sized 1,500㎡ next to those of HAAS of the U.S. and Mazak of Japan, Doosan Infracore displayed its products, including highly sophisticated equipment, leaving an impression that it compared favorably with world-famous manufacturers in terms of both size and technological level. The Company also displayed the racing car that won first place in the NASCAR Racing held in May with the support from it.

Doosan Infracore Vice President Kim Woong-bum (the Head of Machine Tool BG) said, “We aim to rise to the position of the world’s top manufacturer with the annual sales of 2.2 trillion won by 2012 by focusing our efforts on the market for expensive equipment, sufficient technological support and upgraded brand image.”

The IMTS is a biennial event sponsored by the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) that marked the 27th year in 2008. It is one of the world largest machine tool exhibitions which participated in by 1,800 businesses from 119 countries. It serves as a good opportunity to make comparisons between new products in machine tools, relevant attachments and automation/control technologies and check the trend about future-oriented technologies.
