Komatsu Ltd. (President & CEO: Kunio Noji), jointly with Japan Mine Action Service (JMAS), a non-profit organization, has embarked on the first, full-scale community reconstruction project which spans from landmine removal to community redevelopment in Battambang District, Cambodia.
Since arrival in Battambang in July this year, Komatsu staff members have transported the D85MS-15 demining machine and other equipment, and have completed the training of local staff for maintenance and operations of the demining machine. Scheduled for completion by the end of March 2009, this project calls for demining areas for a total of 37 hecters, repair of roads, construction of reservoirs and channels, and repair of a school building.
