On July 16th, China Brand Research Institute issued 2008 Report on Brand Competitive Force. According to the report, the competitive force of 92 famous brands in Chinese market presented declined tendency in the past year, while Sany Heavy Industry kept uprising tendency.

 

This was the first dynamic survey report for competitive force of brands in China, in which totally 300 domestic brands and 100 foreign brands were evaluated. The evaluation indicators mainly included price premium ability (brand satisfaction and appointed purchase), bank credit, industrial position (market share), profitable level of main business, advertisement effect and capital market (market value and brand value), bank credit, industrial position (market share), profitable level of main industry, ad effect and evaluation of capital market (market value and brand value).

 

According to the evaluation, the overall competitive force of domestic brands was not as strong as foreign ones.

  

Among 92 brands with declining competitive force, including 19 foreign brands such as LG, Motorola and 73 domestic brands such as Changhong and Xugong, the declining margin of some brands even exceeded 10%.

 

Meanwhile, there were another 208 brands with uprising competition strength.
