Like the auto industry, the equipment manufacturing industry with great potential is also endowed the expectation of output exceeding RMB 100 billion Yuan. As famous enterprises such as Heli Forklift, Hitachi Construction Machinery and Tianwei Baobian Transformer are more and more well-known and a batch of projects like Jianghuai Heavy-Duty and Changyuan Hydraulics gradually form the scale, Hefei is on the way to become the key equipment manufacturing base in domestic China. “Domestic construction cannot separate from Made in Hefei.” referred to some staff in Hefei Economic Committee.

In Economic and Technological Development Area, Anhui Heli Co., Ltd. invested RMB 1.59 billion Yuan to construct Heli Industrial Park, which realized output of RMB 1.5 billion Yuan in the first half year. “Since we began trial production in the second quarter last year, loaders, road rollers and heavy-duty construction machinery have been put into production. Till 2010, the whole industrial park will reach the goal of output of RMB 8 billion Yuan, among which the output of heavy-duty projects will be RMB 2.0 billion Yuan after achieving production targets. ”introduced the supervisor of Anhui Heli Co., Ltd. As the largest forklift production, scientific development and export base in China, Anhui Heli leads the industry as ranking in World Top Ten Forklift Manufacturers and the heavy-duty projects will redoubled the development strength. On the other hand, Jianghuai Heavy-Duty Company as one of the four blocks comprising Jianghuai Group has finished the first phase project and put into production. It is predicted that Jianghuai Heavy-Duty Company will produce and sell 6000 sets of forklifts in 2008. Moreover, TCM and Hefei Duanya Group are also marching into forklift industry with expected annual output of more than RMB 1.0 billion Yuan.  

Leading the excavator industry, Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. invested RMB 1.0 million Yuan to expand productivity so as to realize the goal of annually producing of excavators 20,000 sets and 30,000 sets respectively by the year of 2010 and 2012. The local brand in high-tech area—Zhenyu excavator also constructed new workshops and production lines, ready to emerge in construction machinery market. Other companies focusing on excavator also include Kezhen Company which invested RMB 61 million Yuan to conduct technological reform on the production line of annually producing 20,000 sets of excavator buckets, which can realize sales income of RMB 160 million Yuan after achieving the production targets.

Tianwei Baobian (Hefei) Transformer Co., Ltd. grasped the opportunity of industry rejuvenating the city to move into Tianwei Electricity Industrial Park in one year and conduct leap-forward development to manufacture 110kV, 220kV and 500 kV transformers, forming series productivity. Especially the third leap in the end of 2007, Tianwei made out 500 kV transformers, which has filled the gap of super-high voltage and large capacity transformer in Anhui. Recently the super-high voltage and large capacity transformers produced in Tianwei Baobian (Hefei) has entered batch production and will form an annual sales scale of RMB 2.0 billion Yuan. Another active company is Lubao Cable Group, which invested RMB 930 million Yuan in Yaohai Industrial Park to build a cable manufacturing base. The base has been invested accumulatively RMB 770 million Yuan with part had been put into production last year. Once the base reached the production targets, it can realize annual sales income of RMB 4.0 billion Yuan.

Last year, the industrial output of manufacturing industry in Hefei reached RMB 24.3 billion Yuan. The annual increasing rate in recent three years for manufacturing industry in Hefei has been more than 40% with strong development momentum. As main enterprises continue to lead the industry and main products keep higher market share, the rapid growth of new enterprises and products will further enhance the strength of equipment manufacturing industry.
