AC-powered reach truck offers enhanced energy efficiency and increased productivity

(Greenville, North Carolina) Hyster Company (www.hysteramericas.com), introduces the new Hyster ZR Class 2 reach truck. Hyster reach trucks let operators quickly and easily navigate narrow aisles in dense warehouse and distribution storage areas. With faster travel speeds and acceleration and better lifting and lowering, the ZR offers customers the ability to get more work done per shift and increase overall productivity.

Hyster ZR reach trucks use electric brushless AC-motor technology to reduce maintenance costs and increase overall truck efficiency. Available in single-reach (N35-45ZR) and double-reach (N35-45ZDR) configurations, the ZR reach truck features four programmable vehicle modes for maximum speed, acceleration, deceleration, and hydraulic ramping. The truck uses electric power steering and regenerative lowering to minimize battery drain and heat build-up.

The ZR’s new ergonomic features ensure that operators are comfortable, even during a full shift. Hyster reach trucks feature a spacious, padded operator compartment, with configurable control handles and drive modes with a choice of fore and aft, or side stances. A low step height makes it easier for operators to get in and out of the truck, and a suspended floor plate makes the ride easier on the operator’s feet and legs. On-demand electric power steering, automatic drive tire centering at key-on, and automatic brake operation also save time and energy for the operator.

Long-term cost of ownership is further decreased by dual articulating caster wheels for even tire wear and minimized tire scrub.

The ZR reach truck uses a CANbus communication system to provide real-time diagnostics and reduce wiring and electrical connections. Hyster’s innovative thermal management system for all motors and controllers provides added protection from overheating.
