Sany Group is planning to invest RMB 20 billion Yuan to build a new production base of crane trucks in Hunan, shocking the whole industry. Liang Wengen, Chairman of the Board in Sany Group said: “Sany will continue to increase the investment in Changsha so as to accomplish Group’s sales income goal of 100 billion Yuan till 2012. Sany (Ningxiang Jinzhou) Industrial Park will become a strong power.”

Sany (Ningxiang Jinzhou) Industrial Park is located in Jinzhou Economic Development Zone in Ningxiang County in Changsha. The contract signed by Sany Group and Ningxiang Government showed that this base is initially invested RMB 10 billion Yuan with expropriated land of 3000 Mu. It is planned to begin construction in the end of June in 2008 and the first phase will be ended and put into production in 2009. After built-up in the end of 2013, annual sales income of the base will reach RMB 15 billion Yuan.

The industrial park will take crane trucks as the strategic products and also manufacture road machinery and mixing equipments. As Sany Group’s sales in 2007 was about 15.3 billion Yuan, the above base is considered as to “Rebuild a Second Sany” in the industry.

In 2008, Sany Group plans to realize production capacity of crane trucks to be 1000 sets and sales income breaking through RMB 1 billion Yuan as the new profit increasing point. Sany aims at sales amount of 3000 sets crane trucks with sales of RMB 2.3 billion Yuan.

Qi Jian, General Manager of Sany Group Crane Corporation said that earlier in March, 2002, Sany Group began operations of crane trucks. The Group put crane truck into batch production since 2006 and in 2007 the sales amount reached 400 sets.

“As for crane trucks, we shall emphasize in solving the problem on production capacity.  Presently, monthly production capacity is just about 30 sets. If the material supply is adequate, it is predicated to reach 600 sets in a whole year.” Qi Jian pointed out. Sany Group entered crane truck industry by small-tonnage products and now runs for large-tonnage cranes.

100-ton crane trucks in Sany Group are about to roll off the production line while 200-ton road cranes are already under the development.

“As crane trucks relate to the production quality of automobile, they are now still put in Sany Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. however, they will be integrated and put onto the listed companies.” Xiang Wenbo, the President of Sany Group said.

Main parts of crane trucks in Sany are all relying on import, thus, the expensive purchase cost will be the key factor to test the profit prospective of crane truck business in the future.
