In recent years, as the core part of the only one Provincial High-New Technology Industry Base of Auto Parts, Anqing Economic & Technology Development Zone greatly promoted the high-new technology development of pillar industries, auto parts industry growing up rapidly, taking Huanxin Group and Anhuang Group for examples. In the first quarter 2008, the Zone realized total industrial production value RMB 2.051billion Yuan with a year-on-year increase of 25.5%, among which auto parts industry realized production value RMB 495.51 million Yuan with a year-on-year increase of 23%.

Parts industry in the Development Zone walked on the road of production, study and research, relied on backboned enterprise and integrated key production lines to optimize resource allocation, actively developing auto parts products with self-intellectual rights and prospective market. 38 national key universities and scientific & research institutes such as University of Science and Technology Beijing, Hefei University of Technology and China Electronic Technology Group have already established research organizations in the development zone, and there are 15 high-new technology enterprises at state and municipal level with self-intellectual rights, which are not only the main suppliers for FAW, Dongfeng, Chang’an, SAIC, JAC and Cherry, but also establishing cooperative relationship with GM, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Hyundai. Main series products such as piston ring and forklift steering axle had 50% of domestic market share, while auto plate spring and steering joint occupied respectively 15% and 8% domestic market share.

As supply of auto parts continues to develop towards module, systematization and scalization, the Development Zone will strengthen the construction of parts industry chain, supported by backboned auto parts enterprises such as Huanxin and Anhuang, integrating medium and small enterprises to cooperate with each other, laying stress on developing six modules such as piston products, engine cylinder parts, engine valve mechanism, steering axle and frame, forging parts and bearing, auto electronic products and elastic elements. Anqing Tp Goetze Piston Ring Co., Ltd. ranked to be No.1 in terms of production and sales amount as well as product quality since from 1998 while each indicator of the company had an annual average increase of more than 50%. WD618／615 diesel engine piston ring developed in recent times have filled in the gap in China and the technology caught up with international advanced level. It was estimated that during the period of 11th-five-year plan, sales of piston products would be 4 billion. On the other hand, as a key enterprise producing elastic elements, Anhuang Group led domestic industry based on the advantageous technology, matching with auto group corporations such as FAW, SAIC, Yuejin, JAC and Changhe. In the first quarter 2008, Anhuang realized production value 100.57 million with a year-on-year increase of 28.5%. On the aspects of mobile electronic products, Dongying Technology, Dongli Optics & Electronic and Honghai Technology will focus on developing mobile wireless and consumption electrons and LED illuminant elements, anticipating to realize sales amount of 600 million till 2010.
