REDMOND, WASH. (February 5, 2008) – Genie has incorporated an extensive package of design enhancements to its GTH™-5519 compact rough-terrain telehandler, optimizing the machine's design to provide maximum value to customers. These enhancements include a strong, comfortable cab for increased operator productivity, increased load capacity at maximum reach, engine options to meet the latest environmental emission standards, and an easily accessible engine compartment for ease of service.

"The GTH™-5519 already has a reputation in the industry as being an excellent all-around, multi-purpose tool," said Luke Webber, product manager for Genie Industries. "Our goal with its redesign was to improve the machine's performance and serviceability while keeping the machine affordable and simple to use. The enhancements incorporated into the GTH™-5519 are designed to lower the overall cost of ownership as well as to increase the long-term value. The GTH™-5519 continues to offer customers exceptional lifting, moving and placing capabilities all around the jobsite while delivering simple operation."

The cab on the GTH™-5519 has been completely re-engineered. The FOPS grid is now integrated into the cabin structure, underneath the glass, reducing the overall cab height to 6 ft 4 in and also decreasing the time needed to replace the glass. The floor-mounted throttle pedal has been repositioned to improve operator comfort. The easy-to-use, multi-function joystick continues to provide operators fast, precise positioning with minimal effort.

To help improve productivity on the jobsite, the GTH™-5519 now lifts 1,900 lb at 11 ft of horizontal reach, 200 lb more than the previous model. Additionally, the GTH™-5519 now comes with the choice of Deutz or Perkins engines that are compliant with the latest Tier 3 emissions regulations. To accommodate these engines, the engine compartment on this unit has been redesigned for convenient access to the internal components.

In addition, the hydraulics on the GTH™-5519 have been upgraded. The flow on the auxiliary line now incorporates a reversible and continuous flow functionality through a three-position electrical switch as well as full proportional control, which can be adjusted through a dedicated manual flow control knob. Also, the telehandler's boom has been re-engineered with improved serviceability in mind.
