When Hanson Building Products chose Linde Materials Handling Ltd as its exclusive provider of fork lift trucks, it was B&B Attachments that Linde turned to for the supply and servicing of attachments. Now B&B Attachments, the UK’s leading supplier of forklift attachments and masts, has achieved ‘Preferred Supplier’ status from Hanson Building Products, one of the world's largest suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry.

The endorsement of B&B Attachments products and customer service follows the recent delivery of a state-of-the-art four-pack handling attachment, which enables Hanson Building Products to pick up four packs of bricks in a single movement. Supplied through Linde for Hanson Building Products’ Desford site in Leicester, the unit is a replacement for an existing four-pack handler. B&B Attachment’s BB4PH has proved and complete success and resulted in the company receiving an order for a further two units.

Fitted to a Linde H80-900 forklift truck, the BB4PH is rated at 5000kg and has a 450mm load centre. The attachment is able to handle 4x1000kg brick packs at a time, which enables Hanson Building Products to achieve maximum productivity through the fast and efficient loading of vehicles.

“B&B Attachments provide us with tailor-made solutions for all our materials handling needs”, said David Corbett, Fleet Project Manager at Hanson Building Products. “B&B will be supplying us with 120 attachments this year alone for our sites such as Peterborough, Stewartby and Carnarvon. In each case it has supplied the right tool for the right job”.

The servicing of the attachments is managed by B&B Attachments on behalf of Linde from its sites in Berkshire and Northumberland. B&B offer Hanson Building Products and Linde service support to ensure maximum availability of the attachment and truck combination at all times.

“Our extensive testing of the attachments proved beyond doubt that B&B could deliver the performance that Hanson Building Products’ requires working with heavy-duty manufacturing”, concluded David Corbett. “Strength and performance were crucial, as well as ease of use. We are impressed with B&B Attachments and the company’s ability to provide us with continuing support.”

Customer care is the cornerstone of B&B Attachments achieving ‘Preferred Supplier’ status with Hanson Building Products and the company has been able to fulfil the company’s requirements for a proactive supplier by providing servicing schedules and fast response times through its nationwide team of mobile service engineers.

“B&B is now supplying all the Hanson Group through Linde Materials Handling”, concludes Neal Fowler, UK Sales Manager of B&B Attachments. “Our attachments are proving invaluable to the Group especially to Hanson Building Products and Thermalite division. We have now also started to supply attachments for other Hanson divisions.” Ends
