Peacock Bros will demonstrate the technology of fully integrated Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) forklift with Indoor Positioning System at Freight Expo 2007.
Peacock Bros has co-developed and constructed Gen2 RFID forklift and integrated Indoor Positioning System which is available as a complete unit.
Backrest-mounted readers capture GS1- compliant RFID Gen 2-tagged boxes, pallets and products as they are handled by the forklift, eliminating the need for the driver to get off to scan the barcodes manually or unpack pallets to read each carton.
Peacock Bros will show its integrated RFID intelligent forklift with Indoor Positioning System at Freight Expo.
This small change in driver protocol can greatly increase productivity, accuracy and efficiency in handling and warehousing of freight.
The Indoor Tracking System provides robust streaming location data with accuracy up to
RFID readers and antennas running at 4 Watts are pre-mounted within the forklift backrest and are hard-wired to a CV30 computer terminal within the forklift cabin.
Self-contained battery-powered RFID antennas provide wide beam coverage for any pallet or boxes stacked onto a pallet, producing an instant read when the forklift picks up the pallet.
The computer terminal is also wirelessly connected to the central inventory or warehouse management system, which is able to provide real-time data between the warehouse floor and the main office computer.
Also at Freight Expo, Peacock Bros will exhibit complete mobility solutions including vehicle mounted mobile computers with data capture ability and portable receipt printing for proof of delivery applications.
Freight Expo 2007 runs from 19 to 21 September at Caulfield Racecourse in
