Toyota Cooperated with FedEx to Head for a Brighter Future
 

 

Toyota Material Handling (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (TMHS) reached cooperation agreement with the largest express giant in the world American Federal Express (FedEx) Co., Ltd. after one and half a year’s negotiation.

 

On July 21st, TMHS and FedEx held grand vehicle delivery ceremony under the witness of the media in Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport. For this time, Toyota supplied FedEx Asia-Pacific Hub with 91 sets of series products, among which 56 were 2.5T tractors and 35 sets of 8-series 2-3T ICE forklifts. During this project, each department of TMHS cooperated and made efforts together, fully presenting the tenet of Toyota as to continuously improve the customer satisfaction.

 

Toyota Material Handling has always been the main supplier of material handling equipments for FedEx’s operations in the global scope. As t the sites that apply for Toyota products are so different from the industrial and mining places for FedEx in America, TMHS initiatively offered several humane service on the products for the customer. For example, targeting at the hot climate in South China and busy loads turnover in the airport, Toyota tractors add bumper on the basis of standard features, thicken the two-bar, enlarges the capacity of storage box and conduct over-heat treatment as well as the function to tract in forward and revise directions; on the other hand, Toyota 8-series ICE forklifts are equipped with safety alarm light, operator presence sensing system, active stability system, weighing apparatus that can enquiry the weights of loads at any time and multifunctional display so as to adjust the night work in FedEx hubs.

 

As one of the four express giants in the world, FedEx established a branch company in China in 1990s. With the rapid development of economy in China, FedEx accomplished excellent achievements as the operations increased at an average rate of 40% annually and the turnover improved to be 60 times. Presently, FexEx has established the largest joint-venture express service network in China, owning 80 branch companies, 205 offices and business covering more than 300 cities in China. With the continuous expansion of FedEx in China, Toyota forklifts can also be purchased continuously and used all around the whole country.

 

The cooperation between TMSH and FedEx will play a pilot role as the milestone during the developing process of Toyota forklift business in China.
