The European manufacturing company of Korea Clark with American blood, showed its milestone, nearly one hundred years’ old forklift – the first one of the world, at CeMAT 2008 held in Hannover, Germany from May 27th May to 31st.
Though Clark is out of the top 10 in world’s ranking, it still actively performs in the stage of world industrial truck. We can find the biggest innovation by comparing their modern forklift with the oldest one. Virtually it is trying its best to get back the past glory with a new leader.
About Clark:
Clark Material Handling Asia was created as Clark Material Handling Company took over the forklift division of Samsung Heavy Industries on July 16, 1998.
Clark Material Handling Asia designs, manufacturers, distributes, and supports 1.5 - 7.5 ton IC forklifts and 1.0 - 3 ton counterbalanced and reach machines from its 312,000 sq. ft. facility in Changwon, Korea. The facility sits on 15 acres and employs over 460 people. The Seoul office houses domestic and export sales along with the Finance Department. Located on the premises is a complete engineering test facility, which allows performance testing for the next generation of Clark products. The factory is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
The plant utilizes "Just in Time" and KANBAN, for lean inventory, which lends itself to a much cleaner, uncluttered and efficient facility. |
