  Crown: Triple-Stage Turret Reduces Collapsed Heights By Up to 25 Percent
 
Often lifting as high as a four-story building, turret trucks can be very tall – even in a fully collapsed, non-lifting state. While a higher lift height allows users to maximize vertical racking space, problems can arise when it’s time to navigate through a facility. Turret trucks are frequently unable to travel through doors or tunnels, or under mezzanines and conveyors. Facility managers have long been forced to choose between a higher lift height for access to vertical space in the warehouse and a shorter collapsed height for access through lower horizontal spaces.[>>More<<]
  Economy and Energy Efficiency in the Focus
 
The Privy Council for Economics of Hamburg Carsten Frigge visited the exhibiting companies during the logistics convention of the BVL (German Federal Association of Logistics Companies) which was held from 22 – 24 October in Berlin.
Economy and energy efficiency were the core messages. Thus the fork lift truck manufacturer and intralogistics company STILL presented its new energy saving concept “Blue-Q” for electric fork lift trucks. “Up to 20 percent of energy saving is possible” said Bert-Jan Knoef, member of the board of directors at STILL.

  Ausa’s TAURULIFT T204H Is a Big Hit in North Europe

AUSA’s telescopic forklift truck, TAURULIFT T204H, is awakening a great deal of interest in countries in the north of Europe. The response from distributors and customers is a guarantee for heavy penetration in several sectors over the coming months.

 

Northern European distributors are happy with one of AUSA’s latest products. The compact all terrain forklift truck with an extendable boom, folding cab and hydrostatic transmission, also known as the T204H, is convincing local workers. More specifically, Sweden is the country in which the telescopic forklift truck is capturing the interest of many professionals in search of machines with important advantages that “allow us to be more competitive to be able to keep our head above water during these difficult times” in the words of Josep Soler, AUSA Export Manager.

  Terex May Not Complete Fantuzzi Deal

(NEW YORK) - Terex Corp (TEX.N) may not complete its purchase of the port equipment businesses of Fantuzzi Industries, it said on Friday, prompting the Luxembourg-Italian company to counter that it saw no obstacle to finalizing the deal.

The U.S. maker of capital equipment for construction said in August it would buy the businesses of Fantuzzi, which makes container handling equipment, for 215 million euros ($271 million). This week, Terex won approval from EU competition authorities for the deal.

  Kalmar Celebrates the Opening of the Port of Vuosaari
Cargotec’s Kalmar business area has delivered four new ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and nine other new container handling machines to the Port of Vuosaari in Helsinki, Finland. This new equipment is being joined by other Kalmar machines that are being moved to Vuosaari from two existing smaller Helsinki ports and Port of Kotka, bringing the total fleet of Kalmar machines at Vuosaari to 240. The operating activities of the smaller Helsinki ports will be transferred to Vuosaari by the end of 2008 [>>More<<]
  HHI Completes Construction Equipment Factory in India

On November 21st Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) completed a construction equipment factory in Pune, Maharashtra, in Western India, to support its Indian operations.

 

HHI invested US$52 million in the Indian operation. The company’s office building has 15,000m2 of floor space, while the factory, which is capable of producing 2500 Excavator units annually, covers 202,000m2.
